OBITUARY Orvel Pruett August 30, 1930 – July 24, 2018 Orvel A. “O.A.” Pruett, age 87, Attalla joined his wife in the presence of Jesus Christ July 24, 2018. Funeral service will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel on Sunday, July 29th at 3 P.M. with Rev. Roger Beshears officiating.

Graveside service and interment following at Red Hill UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M., and on Sunday for an hour prior to the service. Mr. Pruett was a longtime resident of Attalla but originally from Blount County, where he graduated from Susan Moore High School.

After retiring from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Gadsden. , Orvel was a “painter and a picker”. He stayed busy with residential painting projects, buying/selling, and was a “thrift store enthusiast”.

Orvel knew Jesus as his savior after being saved at a young age and was of the Baptist Faith, with his home church being Ivalee Baptist. Mr. Pruett was immensely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren and cherished time with them and his beloved Chihuahua “Rosie”, a constant companion since the passing of his wife. Those preceding him in passing include his wife, Frances; parents, Vinnie and Lily Pruett; brother, Dean and sister, Euthema.

He leaves behind; Sons, Kenny (Katrina) Pruett and Jerry (Kelly) Pruett. Grandsons, Jason (Jessica), Ryan (Tiffany), Adam (Ben), and Clayton. Great-grandchildren, Taylen, Laney, Rayce, Jaxon, and Cora.

Brother, Bumon and Sister, Eloise. “That Dog”, Rosie. Along with a host of special nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors and staff of CCU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center for the compassionate care and kindness they showed to O.A. and our family. Morgan Funeral Chapel & Crematory directing.
