OBITUARY Billy Douglas McClellan July 1, 1930 – September 25, 2018 Mr. McClellan who was born July 1, 1930 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Billy was born in Lincoln Alabama to the late Claude Watson McClellan and Mamie Lee McClellan. They moved to Glencoe, Alabama where Billy grew up and attended school.

He was raised on a farm and enjoyed sports. During his school years, Bill was a star athlete in baseball, football, and basketball. His love of sports carried into his adult life where he coached baseball and basketball for many years.

When Bill turned 18 years old, he enlisted into United States Army. He always believed that decision saved his life. Unlike some of the other young men who were drafted in that era, he had been able to complete boot camp before being shipped off to the Korean War which he served from 1948 to 1952.

For his services to the United States of America, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the Bronze Star service medal. Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia Moses McClellan. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed.

Bill had 4 children, 4 step children, 19 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, Bobby McClellan and Doug McClellan; his sisters, Mary Livermore, Eleanor Dougdale and Dorothy McClellan; his brothers Gaylon McClellan, Elmore McClellan, Louie McClellan; his grandson, Johnny McClellan. He is survived by his son: Ronald McClellan, daughter: Patty Fraley, step daughters: Kim May and Amy Payne, step sons: Donald Jenkins and Lonnie Jenkins.

Bill is survived by his grandchildren Steve McClellan, Brian LaClair, Misty Maharry, Jason McClellan, Josh McClellan, Barry McClellan, Joey McClellan, Jessica McClellan, Heather Bailey McClellan, Michelle McClellan, Shane McClellan, Bradley Fraley, Patrick May, Justin May, William Jenkins, Gabriel Jenkins, Vivian Phillips, Sydnye Payne, and Isaac Payne. Morgan Funeral Chapel will be receiving family on Friday September 28, 2018 between 10 am and 11 am. Friends will be received between 11 am and 1 pm.

The Funeral will begin at 1 pm. After the funeral ceremony, there will be a graveside committal at Rainbow Memorial. The pallbearers will be Josh McClellan, Steve McClellan, Aaron Phillips, and Brian LaClair.
