Orville Lou Klein, 84, of Sterling Nebraska died at the Tecumseh Hospital on Thursday, April 26, 2018. He was born October 30, 1933 at Adams Nebraska and graduated from Adams High School in 1951. He attended UNL and then served in the United States Navy from 1953 – 1955 as a radio operator.

He married Beverly Klein on April 19, 1956 in Adams. They owned and operated Adams Produce for around 30 years. He then sold cars in Beatrice and Tecumseh for several years.

After retirement, Orville… Read More » and Beverly made their home in Grand Lake Colorado. He had a private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. He was also a ham radio operator.

Survivors include four daughters, Jody (Dave) Johnson of Burr, Kathy (Darrell) Saathoff of Sterling, Suzan (Jim) Manthey of Denton and Lisa (Ray) Steinkuhler of Sterling; five grand-children, Crystal Boyer, Chris (Chelsea) Saathoff, Lauren Horsewood and fiancé Adam Benoist, Kyle (Capri) Steinkuhler and Haley (Brandon) Apel; one great-grandson, Beckham Horsewood; one brother, Terry (Rita) Klein of Lincoln; one brother-in-law, Russell (Gwen) Klein of Adams; special friend, Mardell Hestermann; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville M. and Ardith Rap Klein; his wife Beverly; one sister-in-law, Pat Klein. Graveside memorial services will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery in Adams with Chaplain Doyle Karst officiating.

A memorial has been established to the Sterling Rescue Squad. Military honors will be conducted by Frederick-Steidley Post #0221 of the American Legion of Adams. There will be no viewing, but a register book will be available for signatures at the Zink-Fox Funeral Home of Sterling from 12:00 noon until 8:00 P.M. Sunday.
