Hilda M. (Arntt) Probst, 101 years of age, of Beatrice passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born near Harbine on April 14, 1917 to Henry and Amelia (Schiet) Arntt. Hilda grew up near Harbine and attended District #42 School.

She married Allen Probst on October 3, 1936 in Marysville, Kansas. They lived on a farm north of Odell from 1950 to 1986 before she moved to Beatrice. Hilda was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Beatrice and enjoyed quilting and flowers, especially red roses and irises.

Hilda is survived by her daughter, Betty Shepard of Forest Grove, Oregon; daughter-in-law, Karen Probst of Beatrice; 5 grandchildren, Lyle Probst and wife Jacque of Odell, Dennis Probst and wife Chris of Mount Holly, North Carolina, Ann Freese of Beatrice, Karen Shepard, Jeff Shepard and wife Tracy, both of Forest Grove, Oregon; 11 great grandchildren, Christopher, Katie and Jessica Shepard, Rachel Eickman and husband Jason, Linsey Freitag and husband Forest, Ashley Probst and fiancé Holden Rees, Joshua and Samantha Probst, Garrett, Megann and Madison Freese; 2 great great grandchildren, Nealy and Blakely; close niece, Donna Harris; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Allen; son, Robert; son-in-law, Duane Shepard; 2 grandsons, Larry Shepard, Mark Shepard; 3 sisters; and 4 brothers. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Beatrice with Pastor Kathee Forrest officiating.

Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or AseraCare Hospice in care of the mortuary.
