Ronald J. Milke, 80, of Beatrice entered into eternal rest on June 16, 2018 at Tabitha of Lincoln. He was born March 5, 1938 in Beatrice to John O. and Fern A. (Workman) Milke. Ron graduated from Beatrice High School in 1956 and then entered the United States Navy.

He met and later married Donna Mae Irene Dunwell on December 20, 1958 at Camden County, North Carolina and they lived in Florida for a short time while Ron was in the Navy. Ron and Donna moved to Beatrice in 1960. He worked for Tote… Read More » Systems for 35 years before retiring.

Ron’s family was very important to him. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family, and most recently with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice, Bitting-Norman Post #27 of the American Legion and Geddes-Thober post #1077 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars both of Beatrice.

Ron was also very involved in The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations holding positions at the District and Regional levels. Survivors include one daughter, Paula Schoneweis of Wymore and friend Jeff; one son, Joe Milke and wife Delores of Wamego, KS; five grandchildren, Jason Schoneweis and wife Emily of Shallotte, NC, Melissa Wach of Wymore, Kevin Schoneweis and friend Kati of Lincoln, Jonathan Milke and friend Liz of Pittsburg, PA and Samantha Milke of Wamego, KS; five great-grandchildren, Joseph and Matthew Wach, Christopher, Allison and Jaxon Schoneweis and one future great-grandson on the way; many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Fern Milke; wife, Donna Milke; grandson, Jeremy Wach; sister and brother-in-law, Joann and John Metcalf.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Beatrice with Father Robert Barnhill, Celebrant. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice with lunch following at the Veterans Club of Beatrice. A Scriptural Rosary service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 6:30 P.M. at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice.

The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. and not at the church on Tuesday. A memorial has been established to the family for future designation. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is available online at www.
