Howard L. Wehrbein, 52, of Lincoln died in a Lincoln hospital on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. He was born February 20, 1966 at Cedar Falls, Iowa. He graduated from Lincoln East High School in 1984.

He played guitar in a rock band in the late 80’s. He worked at Earl May and the Nebraska Nursery and Color Gardens both in Lincoln for many years. He enjoyed NASCAR, Husker football, music, The Simpsons and his pet dog, Candi.

Survivors include his mother, Carol (CJ) Wehrbein of Beatrice;… Read More » one sister, Judy Weyers and special friend Dwane Landon of Beatrice; two nieces, Jill Sasse and husband Brian and Amy Heideman and two nephews, Craig Weyers and wife Ashley and Brian Weyers and his wife Chanae; 11 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Wehrbein, who died June 13, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathee Forrest officiating.

Burial will be in the Lewiston Cemetery A family prayer service will be held at 9:45 A.M. at the church on Saturday. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday with the family meeting and greeting friends and relatives from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. that evening. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice.
