Oscar Lee Cannon, Jr. 90, of Nederland, Texas went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2019. He was born in Ruby, Louisiana on September 26, 1928 to the late Oscar Lee Cannon, Sr. and Essie Gloria Pierce Cannon. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Army.

Those left to cherish Oscar’s memory are his devoted wife of 62 years, Jean Jeanette Cannon of Nederland; his daughters Valetra Bradley, and her husband Randy of Houston, and Regina Rutherford, and her husband Steve of Winnie; his son John Cannon of Houston; his grandchildren Jennifer Sandel, and her husband Jeff, Katelyn Webb, and her husband Rob, Emily Yawn, and her husband Jonathon, Josh Rutherford, and his wife Alicia, Kara Permenter, and her husband Aaron, Stevi Rutherford, Brenden Cannon, Brooke Cannon, and Chloe Cannon; his great-grandchildren Braden, Carter, Hudson, Kennedi, McCoy, Londyn, Christina, Ashlyn, Rhyan, Bowyn, and three blessings arriving in the summer; his sisters Grace, Lydia Ann, Oma, Callie, and Carlene; and his brother Samuel Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved grandson Jeremy Randall; and three loving sisters, Flora “Sister”, Belle, and Bertis. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Wesley United Methodist Church of Nederland.

The service will follow at 2:00p.m. with Rev. Dr. Douglas Caldwell officiating.
