Oscar “Wayne” Wayne Taylor September 16, 1942 – February 06, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Oscar Wayne Taylor, age 76, known as Wayne by family and friends, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019, at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, Missouri. He was born on September 16, 1942, in Pawnee County, Oklahoma, the youngest son of Floyd Omer Taylor and Nola Malinda Negelein Taylor. Wayne grew up on a poultry farm in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and later on the family’s farm in Porum, Oklahoma, where he attended high school.

On the farm he acquired his life- long love of animals, especially horses. After high school he helped his parents on the farm and even acquired some cattle of his own. Later he worked with his brother, Noel.

building houses as well as other construction jobs. He moved to Colorado for a period of time and that is where he met his wife, Becky Miller, they were married on August 11, 1973 in Woodland Park, Colorado. Together they had five children.

They moved back to Oklahoma and later Wayne moved to Garden City, Missouri with his brother, Noel, to work. After he retired he moved to Warsaw. Wayne enjoyed riding his horses, fishing and hunting.

He was taught his children and some of his nieces how to fish. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Alvin Taylor and a great niece, Kristen Barr and a great-great nephew, Rowdy Washington.

He is survived by his children, Mary Garner, and her husband Darrel, of Goodland, Kansas, Ralph Miller, of Canon City, Colorado, Paul Miller, also of Canyon City, Wayne Eric Taylor, and wife Erica, of Smithville, Missouri, and Thomas Taylor of Ionia, Missouri. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Reser Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Warsaw.

Burial and family gathering will be at a later date.
