Delong November 23, 1956 – March 22, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Carolyn Jean Delong, age 62, of Centerview, Missouri, formerly of Racket, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019. She was born on November 23, 1956 in Sedalia, Missouri the daughter of Richard and Norena Childs. In 1976 she was united in marriage to Thomas Edwards.

Unto this union two children, Carrie and Tommy, were born. In 1994 she was united in marriage to Robert Delong. Carolyn began her career at Wetzel Clinic in 1979.

She was a doctor’s assistant for Dr. Joseph Gialde for more than twenty years and then for Dr. Mark Vogt until her retirement. She loved her job as a caregiver and was loved by many patients. Carolyn enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing bingo and being surrounded by her family.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband Robert Delong, her mother and step father Gerald Max and Norena Beaumont, her father and step mother Richard and Kay Childs and a grandson Atticus Cain Edwards. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Phillips (Adam), a son, Tommy Edwards (Jennie), nine grandchildren; Taylor, Trenton (Macey), Trevor, Courtney, Tristan, William, Chesni, Wesley and Spencer, her siblings; Belinda Williams (Jim), Cindy Naylor (Mark), Kathy Beaven (Steve), Rick Childs (Linda), Susie Royer (Jeff), Tammy Todd (Brandy) and several nieces, nephews and friends. Here is a quote from her sisters, “You are my amazing sister that had a heart so strong that it couldn’t sustain you.

I will miss you and remember you always. I learned to be strong, endure and find conviction in what is right. I will miss holding your hand, watching you laugh and hugging you when you needed.

I love you sister. Rest in Peace. Funeral services for Carolyn J. Delong will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Graveside Services and Interment will follow the funeral at the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Addison’s Grace c/o the Reser Funeral Home 101 W. Main Street Warsaw, Missouri.
