Passed away on October 3, 2018 at her home one week shy of her 63rd birthday. She was born on October 10, 1955 in Syracuse NY. She was predeceased by her father Judson K. Albaugh MD and her brother Kevin B. Albaugh.

She is survived by her husband Robert M. Meldrim; mother Carolyn D. Albaugh; sisters and brothers in law Nancy and Joe Sharkey, Kathryn and Donald Gitto; sister in law Cheryl Albaugh; nephews and nieces Kurt and Quinn Albaugh, Elizabeth Hutchinson and Michael and Stephanie Gitto; great nieces and nephews Michael, Genevieve, Lillian and Luke. Patty graduated from Oswego State University with a degree in business and worked at AT &T for 25 years. Upon retirement Patty launched her own business, Serenity Pet Treats, and at the same time was an adjunct professor of business at Binghamton University.

On a lovely July day in 2007, after a 30 year courtship Patty and Bob were married in a backyard ceremony at their Binghamton home. Patty was a friend to all and was always willing to lend a hand or solve a problem. Any situation that would acquire her attention, she would simply say “We will deal with it”, and she always did.

We will all miss her kindness, her intelligence, her energy, her instincts, her contagious positive attitude, and her keen sense of humor. She especially enjoyed all family get-togethers: Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Weddings. Not only was Patty a “people person” , she was also a “pet person” and the following critters will all attest to that: Sheba, Gracie, Moose, Georgie Girl, Parker, LuLu, Clark and Meriwether.

A highlight of the last few years was her trip to Machu Picchu with Kathy, Cheryl and friend Carol. The family would like to thank the staff of Broome Oncology and Wilson Hospital for their care for the last 4 + years. Patty donated her body to medical science.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-7 pm at the Barber Memorial Home, Inc. 428 Main Street Johnson City. A Celebration of Patty’s life will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to SPEAK 351 Flint Road Binghamton NY 13905 and/or Broome County Animal Shelter Cutler Pond Road Binghamton NY 13905.

In closing it is impossible to sum up Patty’s life in so few words, but hopefully, the footsteps she leaves behind will linger forever.
