Richards, 70, formerly of Cooperdale, Ohio died Thursday evening, January 17, 2019 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark, Ohio. She had resided in Newark for several years. Born December 15, 1948 in New Lexington she was a daughter of the late Charles V. and Betty J. (Forsythe) Forester and was a graduate of New Lexington High School.

She was Christian by faith and enjoyed quilting and reading. Surviving are two daughters, Tina (Zach) Prater of Adams Mills, Ohio and Katrina Richards of Wakatomika, Ohio; one son, James Richards of Newark; one step son, Michael (Lisa) Richards of Newark; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one on the way. Also surviving are two sisters, Rebecca (William) Snyder and Peg Elekes, both of New Lexington and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Red” Richards who she married July 7, 1970 and who died September 30, 2001; a sister, Charlotte Appleton and a brother, Charles Forester. Calling hours will be from Noon to 1pm Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Dresden Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 714 Main Street. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Jones officiating.

The family has asked that you dress comfortably. Burial will be in Coshocton Memory Gardens.
