Patricia “Pat” Ann Ellis Atkinson, 81, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018. She was born April 19, 1937 in Wayne County to the late Preston Wilson Ellis and Elma Parker Ellis. She graduated from Rosewood High School and attended Campbell College.

She retired after 30 years of service with the NC Department of Revenue. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, 27545. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Surviving: daughters: Teresa A. Bell (Steve) of Fairfax, VA, Carol A. Trogdon of Raleigh; grandchildren: Jason Lee Atkinson, Christopher R.M. Bell, Natalia Leanne Bell, Lindsey Rae Boyette, Kayla McKenzie Atkinson; 1 great-grandson, Dylan James Atkinson; brothers: Kenneth Douglas Ellis (Dixie) of Goldsboro, Perry Wilson Ellis of Newport; sisters: Linda E. McMillan (Lynn), Janice E. Evans (Billy) all of Garner; brother-in-law, Ernest Atkinson (Edna) of Sanford; sister-in-laws: Ruth A. Daniels of Kenly, Mary Jo Atkinson of Garner. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Clifton Atkinson and son, James Rudolph Atkinson.
