Patricia Pat Flynn Crabtree, September 27, 1927 — January 30, 2018

Obituary for Patricia “Pat” Flynn-Crabtree Patricia Flynn-Crabtree, age 90, wife for 50 years of the late Robert H. Crabtree, died January 30, 2018, in Juneau, AK. She was born in Pacific Grove, California on September 27, 1927 to the late Michael and Esther Doney Flynn. Pat was raised in Pacific Gove and went to the local schools.

She had one sister, Kathleen, who died in Fairbanks in 1957, and a brother, Michael, who passed away in San Bruno, California in October 1999. Pat married Robert Crabtree on July 1, 1949. They had one daughter, Dale, in 1950.

They moved to Reno, Nevada in 1958, where Bob finished school at the University of Nevada and graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1960, and Pat worked in a local bank. They moved to Los Angeles where they discovered sailing and bought their 4th boat “Foot Loose” in 1968. They lived aboard the boat for the next 20 plus years.

They cruised the Channel Islands of Oxnard, California, extensively during the next 9 years. Then they retired and cruised up the coast to Southeast Alaska in 1977; and had lived in this area ever since, first in Wrangell and then in Juneau. After retiring again in 1991, they cruised Southeast Alaska extensively during springs and summers until Bob passed away in December 1999.

Their only daughter, Dale Crabtree-Lopez, passed away only 14 months after her dad in February 2001. Pat loved Juneau and Tenakee Springs where she made many friends. She volunteered at the Senior Center in Juneau, helping teach Ceramics for many years.

She is survived by her two grandsons Aaron Lopez of Juneau and Jason Lopez of Biloxi, Mississippi; and many nieces and nephews. Pat will be buried with her husband, daughter, and father in San Carlos Cemetery in Monterey, California.
