PATRICIA RUTH JOHNSON, age 76, of 314 9th Street, Butner, NC died Friday night, March 8, 2019 at the Hock Family Pavilion. Mrs. Johnson was born September 12, 1932 in Granville County, NC daughter of the late James Thomas & Mary Ruth Baker Johnson. Upon her retirement after 31 years of service from John Umstead Hospital she worked as a dispatcher for the Granville County Sheriff’s Department.

She loved fishing, going to the beach, watching Jurassic Park and M*A*S*H, was an avid Carolina fan, and a member of Butner Baptist Church. Surviving are two children, Kim Crabtree & fiancée, Ronnie Morris of Butner, NC, Tommy Burgess of Virginia Beach, VA, six grandchildren, Josh Burgess, Brittany Daniels, Dustin Bauman, Tara Messer, Brittany Burgess, Erica Burgess, and two great grandchildren, Trey Messer and Bailey Crabtree. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Johnson is preceded in death by a brother, James Baker Johnson.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2019 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Charles Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
