Patrick Francis Leonard, 57, of Alexandria Virginia, left this earth on Wednesday April 4, 2018, at Fairfax Virginia Hospital, surrounded by family and friends, following cardiac surgery. Born on March 30, 1961, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, he was the son of Mary E. (Bette) Thomas Leonard of Roaring Brook Twp and the late Morgan F. Leonard. He spent his adult life working in retail and was… Read More » the Assistant General Manager of Neiman Marcus in Fairfax, Virginia at the time of his death. Patrick was a joy to be around. He would do anything for anyone and never missed a birthday of family or friends.
He loved to shop and was always on the lookout for a special gift or trinket. Patrick’s thoughtfulness, generosity, sunny personality and joyous laughter will be deeply missed. Patrick is survived by his siblings, William Leonard and his wife Ellen of Erie, Joseph Leonard of Roaring Brook Twp.
, and Sean Leonard and his wife Tonya of Pittsburgh; his nieces Jessica Leonard of Pittsburgh, Megan Lewis and her husband Dale of Spring Brook Twp, Dawn Dempsey of Scranton, Corrine Dempsey of Moscow, Natasha Schiemer and her husband Mark of Pittsburgh; his nephew Jason Gurnari and wife Heather of Louisville; and great-nephews Andrew Gruden, Logan and Grayson Charbal, Isaac Schiemer, Joshua Gurnari, James Lewis, and Blake Morgan Lewis, the sunshine of his life. Patrick is also remembered by his many cousins and close friends, including those with him when he passed, Ali, Zade, and Tony in Alexandria. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his favorite brother Robert “Bobby” Leonard, his brother Jeffrey Leonard, and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Leonard.
The funeral will be Saturday April 14, 2018 at 10:30 am from Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC, 3 First Street in Spring Brook Twp with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Monsignor John Jordan at 11:00 am in the Church of St. Eulalia, 214 Blue Shutters Road in Roaring Brook Township. Interment with Rite of Committal will be private in Saint Catherine’s Cemetery in Covington Twp. A visitation will be held on Friday April 13, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Caring Center, 4117 Liberty Ave.
