Obituary for Patrick Shawn Maloney P. Shawn Maloney, age 56 of Chicago, formerly of Cary, passed away suddenly October 8, 2018 at his home. He was born February 2, 1962 in Chicago, the son of Bill and Carol Maloney. Besides his parents he’s survived by a brother Alan Maloney and a sister Rachael Maloney as well as nephews Tyler, Jacob and niece Jessica Vinczen.

Shawn lived in Cary for 22 years and graduated from Cary-Grove High School in 1980. In his younger years Shawn refereed Girls Roller Derby, he also formed a rock band in the 80’s and 90’s and was a promoter of Midwest bands, and at one point he was a DJ. He had a passion for older cars and motorcycles and was in the Pipe Fitters Union 597 for 32 years.

Through all his interests he acquired many special friends. There will be a Memorial Visitation for Shawn on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 2:00 Pm until 4:00 PM at the Kahle-Moore Funeral Home, 403 Silver Lake Rd. , Cary.
