Obituary for Patsy Agee Hester On December 23, 2018 Patsy Agee Hester left the ravages of dementia behind and stepped through the gates of Heaven. Patsy was born in Spring City, Tennessee in 1944 and was an early graduate of Spring City High School, growing up in the St. Clair community. She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Eula Agee.

Patsy moved to the Midway community in Roane County in the mid-70’s and impacted the community there for the rest of her life. Her beauty shop was a gathering spot for the ladies of the community. She worked side by side with her husband Raymond Hester, now deceased, on a dairy farm, in the fields and in the care of their blended family.

Patsy was the manager of the Midway High School cafeteria for many years, as well as the Roane County High School cafeteria. Her smiles and hugs and chocolate milks blessed many students over the years. The two most important parts of Patsy’s life were her faith and her family.

Patsy was a very active member of Salem Baptist Church and her church community. She sang, both in the choir and solo and loved music and playing her harpsichord. Her beautiful alto voice carried the lyrics of the songs she sang from her heart.

Patsy was a bus captain for many years, allowing children from other communities to come to church, and in many cases come to Christ. She served her church by managing much of the meal ministry, using her experience to provide wonderful meals to her church family and community. Her most lasting impact was in the Junior Church ministry where she faithfully taught for many years, sharing the love of Jesus with children through songs and stories.

Patsy leaves behind a family who love her and will greatly miss her. Her sisters, Faye Smith (Eddie) of Rockwood and Mae Wells (Jim) of Lenoir City have cared for and supported Patsy during her illness. Cathy Blasingame Keene of Bristol, TN, and Darren Blasingame of the Midway community, as well as Paul Hester (Melinda), Pebble Davidson (Steve) and Shannon Hester (Lisa) are her children whether by birth or by marriage, as well as a daughter-in-love Lafonda Blasingame.

She leaves fourteen grandchildren whom she dearly loved and precious great-grandchildren as well. Services for Patsy will be managed by Kyker’s Funeral Home of Kingston, but will all be held at Salem Baptist Church, 1212 Salem Valley Road in Ten Mile. On Saturday December 29 the family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 and the funeral will be held at 3:00 and officiated by Pastor Ted Clower.

Graveside service will follow at the Rose Cemetery on Laurel Bluff Road. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Salem Baptist Church. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the entire staff of Christian Care Center of Bristol who both loved and cared for Patsy during her final 15 months on earth.
