Obituary Service Details Paul D. Solana, age 75, of High Ridge, MO, born on January 29, 1943 in Crosby, TX, died on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at SSM St. Clare Hospital, Fenton, MO. Paul was a graduate of Southwestern Illinois College with a degree in Horticulture. He also attended Lee Junior College, Sam Houston College and Houston Community College.

While in high school, he served in ROTC. He worked as a pipefitter in Local #211 as a welder and a carpenter; as well as numerous landscape companies. He finally retired from Solana Landscape and Garden Design.

Paul was a Christian who loved his family. He was a member of Gospel Tabernacle in Godfrey, IL and Gospel Assembly Church in St. Louis, MO. Paul loved being out on the lakes and rivers to tie flyes and he enjoyed many types of fishing.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. We can all agree that Paul was a man of many skills. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Frances, nee Curry, Solana; his two brothers, George Solana and Fred Vincent Solant; and his three sisters, Josephine Solana, who died in infancy, Ellen Young and Frances Lois Griggsby; a sister-in-law, Vickie J. Hampsey; and a nephew, Jacob L. Hampsey.

Paul is survived by his wife, Estia Solana, nee Hampsey; his nieces and nephews, Michael Griggsby, Patrick Griggsby, Stacey Griggsby, Melody Lopez Guillen, Kay Ezel, Sarah Graham and Fred Young; his great nieces and nephews, Lee Griggsby, Ryan Griggsby and Angela Rose Lopez; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Brodyn and Emma Griggsby and Elijah Bernal, and Sophia and Gabriel Santos; his mother and father-in-law, John R. and Marybelle, nee, Stamps, Hampsey, Sr.; his sisters-in-law and brother-in law, Deborah (Dennis) Collins, John R. (Joyce) Hampsey, Jr., Laura (Crede) Edens and Katrina (Herbert) McCarty; his nieces and nephews, Chad (Laurie) Collins, Darwin (Elisha) Collins, Heather (Tim) Mitchell, Merideth (Travis) Wilson, John (Andrea) Hampsey, III, Matthew Edens, and Thomas and Laurabelle McCarty; his great-nieces and nephews, Matthew (Katie) May, Phoebe (Justin) Foltz, Cole, Stefani and Sam Collins-Holdman, Jordan Collier, Bobbie Boyer, MaKayla Collier (Ryan Prock), Anna (Wyatt) Hennrich, Andrew and Austin Mitchell, Makenzi, Morgan, TJ, and Tyler Wilson, Mykaylah, Jack, and Sophia Hampsey; his great-great nephews, Wyatt May, Braxton Collier, Joseph Prock and Wyatt and Wolf Hennrich; and his furry friends, Chula and Willow. Memorials may be made to the family. Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Kassly Mortuary, Ltd., Fairview Heights, IL.
