Obituary for Mr. Paul W. Rote Jr. Paul W. Rote Jr. passed away peacefully at Berkshire Medical Center with his family by his side on December 25th, 2018. He was born on March 21, 1939, the son of Paul W. Rote Sr. and Madeline Heidel Rote. He graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1957 where he was a member of the Varsity basketball team.
Paul started his career at the Berkshire Evening Eagle in 1957 as an apprentice in the Press Room; retiring 44 years later in June 2001. Paul married his high school sweetheart, Pamela Frambach, on May 7, 1960 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Paul loved sports, especially his San Francisco and New York Giants.
His passion for sports led to his coaching of Little League baseball and basketball teams at the Boys Club. He also truly enjoyed watching his three grandsons play basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. He is predeceased by his mother and father, his sister, Eileen Provost, his in-laws, Charles and Marjorie Frambach and his brothers-in-law Noel Provost, John Shutts, and Charles Frambach Jr
He is survived by his wife, Pamela, his two daughters, Kim Rote Burke of South Burlington, VT and Lori Rote Morin of Woodstock Valley, CT, their husbands, Thomas J. Burke IV and Steven C. Morin, three grandsons, Thomas J. Burke V, Kyle S. Morin, and Zachary J. Morin, and his sister, Doris Rote Shutts. We would like to give a special thank you to all the nurses and doctors that took care of him in the Emergency Room and the wonderful, caring staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Berkshire Medical Center. Funeral Notice: Calling hours for Paul W. Rote Jr. will be held on Saturday, December 29th, 2018 from 3-6 PM at Dwyer Funeral at 776 North St. Celebrations of his life will be held on Sunday, December 30th at 12 PM at Dwyer Funeral Home with the Rev.
Timothy Weisman officiating. Following the service, burial will be at Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
