Pauline S. Jandreau, age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Lakewood Continuing Care Center in Waterville, Maine. She was born in Van Buren, Maine on March 27, 1931 to Guy and Yvonne Ouellette. Growing up on the Cyr Plantation, she had a passion for being with family, cooking, and listening to country music.

In the early eighties, they began a construction company as well as purchasing real estate throughout the town of Waterville.
Pauline and her husband purchased a lake house on Snow Pond in 1983, which instantly became the place where she could indulge in her favorite activities: being with family, playing bluegrass music, and playing cards on the deck overlooking the lake. On the lake in her rocking chair, you could hear her singing along to the lyrics of the music that would bring her mind back to the potato fields with her parents and siblings. As a member of Sacred Heart Church on Pleasant Street and Notre Dame Church on Silver Street in Waterville, she placed her faith in God and led her children and grandchildren to a place of worship where they would be confirmed as youths and married as adults.
Pauline played a large role in her family that extended past raising her own eight children. Known by the family as “Memere” she helped raise many of her grandchildren who she loved dearly. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, her beloved husband Donald R. Jandreau, her loving daughter Nancy Jandreau Johnson, sister Yvette Desjardins, sister Agatha Simpson, brother Gerald Ouellette and brother Leo Ouellette.
She is survived by her loving children: son Donald R. Jandreau, Jr. of Waterville; son Peter Jandreau and his wife, Carol, of Soldier Pond; daughter Judee Jandreau of Kennebunk; son Ricky Jandreau and his partner, Judy Hallowell, of Belgrade; son Brian Jandreau of Norridgewock; son Kevin Jandreau and his wife, Janice, of Benton; son David Jandreau and his wife, Kristie, of Winslow; and son-in-law Jim Johnson of Sidney. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher Jandreau, Nicole King, Jared Jandreau, Brent Jandreau, Kenny Jandreau, Britney Jandreau, Sabrina Jandreau and Nathan Jandreau as well as her sister Renee Cosmopulos; three brothers: Nathan Ouellette; Bobby Ouellette and wife, Carol; and Louis Ouellette and wife, Germaine; brothers-in-law: Franklin Jandreau and wife, Mary; Michael Jandreau and wife, Marguerite; Docite Jandreau Jr.; sisters-in-law: Cozy Hannan and husband, Terry; Violet Morneault; Ida Charette and husband, Gerard; Elizabeth Albert; Velma Jandreau; Diane Jandreau; and her great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10 at Gallant Funeral Home, 10 Elm Street in Waterville.
A funeral mass will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 72 Pleasant Street in Waterville.
