Peggy’s Obituary Peggy Ione Reid, 78, of Hagerstown, passed away, Friday, January 18, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 20, 1940 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Victor Owen and Mary (Williams) Thumma. Peggy was a graduate of Smithsburg High School, class of 1958.

In addition to being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker she was a bookkeeper for Horst Fencing and the family business R-N-R Auto Body where she delighted the employees with her weekly baked goods. Peggy was a member of Salem Reformed Church, Hagerstown, since 1962. She enjoyed playing bingo, puzzles, shopping, bird watching, the beach, camping and bus trips with her girl friends.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Kenneth Lee Reid whom she married September 16, 1960; two children, Ronald Reid and wife, Rhonda and Traci Green and husband, Ralph, all of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Ryan Reid and wife Taylor, Ross Reid and Fiancé, Andrea and Madison Green; two great grandchildren, Owen and Evan Reid and her best friend of 60 years Sandy Naylor and her golden retriever, Macee. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. , Hagerstown with Pastor Stephen Wagoner officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Peggy’s name to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave. , Hagerstown 21742. Rest Haven Funeral Home, Hagerstown is assisting the family with the arrangements.
