Wilbur’s Obituary Wilbur G. Snyder, Jr. 89, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Veterans Affair Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va. Born October 20, 1929 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late, Wilbur G. Snyder, Sr. and Evelyn E. (Edwards) Snyder. He retired from Stratton Furniture, where he was a upholstery springer.

He was a member of the New Beginning Community Church in Hagerstown. Wilbur served in the United States Army and received the Purple Heart and various other medals. He was life member of the DAV Post 14, Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 312, American Legion Post 212 and the VFW Post 1936.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Gloria A. (Eichelberger) Snyder; his sister, Peggy A. Gregory; sons, Wilbur G. Snyder, III and wife, Suzette of Falling Waters, W.Va. , Pastor Rick Snyder and wife, Mary Ellen of Martinsburg, Pastor Mark Snyder and wife, LeAnn of Hagerstown, Tony L. Snyder and wife, Veronica of Hagerstown, Scott Snyder and wife, Tiffany of Martinsburg; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave.

, Hagerstown with his son, Pastor Mark Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Rest haven Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
