John’s Obituary John Ellsworth Henesy, 75, of Hagerstown, passed away, Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown. Born October 1, 1943 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late, Leonard Ellsworth and Vada Mae (Oberholzer) Henesy. Mr. Henesy retired from the Chessie System (formerly the Western Maryland Railway) where he worked as a diesel mechanic and electrician.

He was a member of the Church of the Brethren. His hobbies included model railroading, gardening, listening to bluegrass gospel music and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Henesy is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, LaVerne Edna (Buhrman) Henesy; three children, Timothy Henesy and wife, Marianne of Clear Spring, Md.

, Daphne Kurdziolek and husband, Steve of Mt. Airy, Md. and Gregory Henesy and wife, Dorinda of Boonsboro, Md.

; six grandchildren, Matthew Henesy and wife, Rebecca, Jonathan Henesy, Lukas Kurdziolek, Ashley Kurdziolek, Mikayla Henesy and Millie Henesy; one great grandson, Jackson Henesy; two sisters, Annette Hochstetler of Dayton, Va. and Mary Hoffman of Hagerstown. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave.

, Hagerstown with Rev. Joe Quesenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 7-9 P.M. at the funeral Home.
