OBITUARY Penny L. Wilson, Sr. July 26, 1927 – September 29, 2018 Penny L. Wilson, Sr. claimed the promise of the Resurrection on Saturday, September 29, 2018. He was 91 years of age and spent his final days under the care of Shenandoah House Hospice. He was a military veteran, serving in the Navy Seabees around the world.

He was a member of Ocean View Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia and most recently attended Fishersville United Methodist Church. He was a resident of The Meadows at Stuarts Draft Retirement Community. He was known for his carpentry and pipe-fitting skills and enjoyed growing and caring for azalea plants.

He provided for his family and they will miss his sense of humor and numerous jokes. He especially enjoyed eating lunch at Golden Corral where the waitstaff became like family to him. In these final years, he has expressed his desire to join his dear wife, Elsie Porter Wilson, in Heaven.

Her passing left a void in his life which could never be filled. He is survived by two sisters, Mildred Thompson and Marjorie Colburn of Meridian, Mississippi; two sons, Stephen (wife, Susan) of Stuarts Draft, VA and Penny (wife, Lisa) of Stephens City, VA; grandchildren, Jeffery, Emily, Kenneth and Kimberly; many nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Sallie Jacob. His family wishes to thank his many caregivers at Stuarts Draft Retirement Community, Augusta Health Hospital and Shenandoah House.

No services are planned at the present time.
