OBITUARY Peyton Leo Williams January 2, 1940 – September 24, 2018 Peyton Leo Williams, 78, of Lynchburg, went to be with his Lord and his wife on Monday, September 24, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Susie Garnett Williams for 58 wonderful years. Born in Amherst Co., he was the son of the late Robert Melton Williams and the late Irene Profitt Williams.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brothers, Robert M. Williams, Jr. Peyton was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and a retired employee of Charter of Lynchburg. He is survived by three sons, Peyton L. “Teeny” Williams, Jr. and his wife, Sherry, of Lynchburg, Michael W. Williams and his wife, Jackie, of N.C. and Rodney L. Williams and his wife, Amy, of Lynchburg, six grandchildren, Mathew R. Williams, Megan Williams, Michael W. Williams, Jr., Jessica W. Hoffman and her husband, Luke, Dakota “Cody” Williams and Kathryn Williams; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Thomas E. Williams of Lynchburg; one sister, Virginia W. Bryant and her husband, Gordon, of Lynchburg and a number of nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Carlton A. Duck and Pastor Sam Stump, Jr., officiating.
