Philip D. Marx Age 70, of Canton, passed away Friday August 31, 2018. He was born Sept. 30, 1947 in Flushing, NY, a son of the late Otto and Helen (Schmidt) Marx, and had been a Canton resident since August of 1984.

Phil was a 1966 graduate of Hicksville High School in Long Island, NY, attended Bob Jones University in South Carolina and graduated in 1972 from Kings College with a BA in Business Administration. Phil retired from Bank One where he was a Loan Officer. He attended The Chapel in North Canton and was an avid Cleveland professional sports fan and a member of the Hall of Fame Fitness Center.

Phil supported various Christian Ministries. He always enjoyed good food and a cup of coffee. Phil is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Hal Smith, and a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Barbara Marx, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home. Friends may call Friday 6:30-7:30 p.m. before the service.
