Obituary for Phillip G. Stanley Phillip G. Stanley, age 64, of Johnson City, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Johnson City, Phillip is a son of the late George Carter and Annabelle (Britt) Stanley and is of the Baptist faith. He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine who served during the Vietnam Conflict.

He enjoyed cooking, planting flowers and gardening. He had two beloved cats: Ebony and Chloe. In addition to his parents, Phillip is preceded in death one sister: Barbara Stanley.

Phillip G. Stanley leaves behind to cherish his memory: Son: Jason Stanley and fiancé, Carolyn Hopson; Daughter: Rebecca Stanley and fiancé, Scott Greenway; Grandchildren: Damon Stanley, Dustin Stanley, Brandon Greenway, Kilroy Hill, Mahaliá Hill; Siblings: Kenneth Britt and wife, Robin, Kathie Hampton, Christine Stanley Foster and husband, Dale, Jim Stanley and wife, Melissa, William Stanley, Gail Hughes and husband, Ed, Georgianna Ortiz and husband, Fred, Stacy Gilliam and husband, Mike, Tracy Darr and husband, John; Several nieces and nephews; Special friends: John Collins, Randy and Kathy Black, Rose Taylor. The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Phillip G. Stanley in a funeral service to be held at 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 20, 2018 in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Pastor Curtis Hurt will officiate.

A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00 PM and will continue until the hour of service on Thursday. Visitation will also be held at other times in the home of Christine Stanley Foster, 301 Foster Ridge Road, Erwin, TN 37650. A committal service will be held at a later date in Stanley Family Cemetery.
