Phyllis’ Obituary Phyllis M. Babcock, aka Grandma D.D., age 91 of Freeport, IL passed away Monday, January 21, 2019 at home. She was born September 20, 1927 in Freeport to the late Harry E. and Leota (Swisher) Ruttman. Phyllis was a housekeeper for Freeport Manor Court Nursing Home.

She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, bowling, bingo, cards, casinos, watching movies and old t.v. shows and most of all, talking about her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is survived by her four children, Linda Rimington, Susan (Dick) Huenefeld, Steve (Sandy Gray) Babcock, and Tina Huenefeld; her grandchildren, Donna Huenefeld, Tammy Heckman, Carl Utt, Timothy Huenefeld, Peggy Huenefeld, Jody Huenefeld, Brandon Babcock, Cindy Cantrell, Ted “Teddy” Huenefeld, Jenna Babcock, and Daniel Huenefeld; her 21 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; her special friends, Norm and Eunice Miller of German Valley, Dorothy Kauffman of Ridott, Bonnie Sigafus of Warren, and Sue Donker of Freeport. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Betty Rierson and Evelyn Sturz, her two brothers, Frank and Harry E. Jr., two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will take place at Grandview Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Jane Adams Community Center.
