Obituary Phyllis Susan Arnold June 10, 1950 – March 8, 2019 Susan would like to let her friends and family know that her work is done here, and she has been called home. On Friday March 8, 2019, a long battle with cancer ended in peace and surrounded by love. Phyllis Susan Arnold, a loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 68.

Susan fought cancer the way she lived her life—with strength, unwavering love, grace, faith and a quiet fierceness unmatched by others. She wrote her own rules and refused to let cancer dictate how she lived her life. Susan exemplified beauty from the inside out and never missed the opportunity to appreciate all the beauty around her.

She was a passionate and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who never missed an opportunity to have an adventure and create lasting memories for everyone around her. Susan was born June 10, 1950 in Clay County, Texas. Susan was beautiful both inside and out from the day she was born.

Her elegance and smile instantly warmed any room. She was inseparable from her husband Morgan, and they were the epitome of being “in love”. Together they loved to travel and lived life to the fullest.

Beaches around the world have held their footprints as they walked hand-in-hand. Some of Susan’s greatest joys were raising her children John Mark, Becca and Kurt and spending time with her four grandchildren. Known affectionately as Nonna, she showered her grandchildren with love and attention.

Her sisters joked that although she was the shortest in stature, she was the tallest in tenacity. Susan was preceded in death by her father, Horace Barber, and her mother, LaVonne Barber. She is survived by her husband Morgan, her children, John Mark, Becca and Kurt, her grandchildren Kendall, Olivia, Emma and Jaxon, her sisters, Bunny Lynn Miles and Theronne Jamie Angelich and her brother Cris Barber.

Susan’s family will host a private celebration of life in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Foundation for Women’s Cancer (www. foundationforwomenscancer.org).

Susan, there will never be a brighter light in this world than you. We have great peace knowing that you are rejoicing with our Lord. Until we meet again, we will miss you dearly and hold you close to our hearts.
