Priscella Carr August 30, 1919 – February 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Priscella Carr, age 99, of Wellington, KS, passed away February 26, 2019 at Wellington Health and Rehab. Priscella Carr was born August 30, 1919 to Mr. Odie Carr and Hazel (Werner) Carr in Castle, OK. To many she was known as Aunt Priscella while others simply called her Ms. “P”.

Priscella completed her formal education in the Wichita, KS school system. She was employed by several Wellington families as a domestic and later became a CNA. Priscella loved the Lord.

She was baptized at an early age and spent her life in service to a true and living God. On most Sundays you would find her at her post as an Usher “Door Keeper” at the Friendly Second Baptist Church of Wellington, KS where she served faithfully until her health declined. Priscella was an outspoken individual who let you know where she stood.

She loved to laugh and crack jokes. She loved to bake and garden. She could bake a cake that would melt in your mouth and have you begging for more.

She also loved children and although she had none of her own she was blessed to have many who considered her to be like a mother and grandmother to them. Priscella loved to travel. Along with her sister, Rosie, you would often find her in one city or another visiting family and friends.

Priscella is preceded in death by her parents, Odie and Hazel; three brothers, Joseph, Odis, and John Carr; and one sister, Rosie Carr Bristow. Survivors include two nephews, Reverend Paul Carr and Timothy Carr, and niece, Rebecca Adebiyi; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Reverend Keith Hines will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. until service time. A memorial has been established with Birthline in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
