Obituary for Homer J. Simmons Homer J. Simmons, 88, of Bald Knob, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 24, 1930 in Cash, Arkansas to the late Walter and Nellie (Smith) Simmons. Homer was a Veteran of the Army National Guard, worked as a supervisor at several nuclear power plants and retired from NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Texas.

He attended the Velvet Ridge Church of Christ until his health began to fail him in the last year. Music was not something he enjoyed, but he did like his news talk radio if it was on. He also enjoyed EBay and the many things he could find at a bargain.

He leaves behind his wife of 69 years, Sara (Ragsdale) Simmons; 2 sons, Terry Simmons and his wife Joanne and Stephen Simmons and his wife Bonnie; 3 grandchildren, William, Walter and Jeremiah Simmons; 1 niece and 4 nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nellie; a son, Kenny Simmons and 4 sisters and 1 brother. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations are made to a charity of your choice.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, Sept. 14 at the Fredonia Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia.
