Funeral for R. James Wingo, 93 of Falkville will be Thursday July 26, 2018 at 10:00AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Nichols officiating with burial in the Etha Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home Directing. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Wingo was born December 21, 1924 in Arkansas to Hershel E. Wingo and Cora M. Gipson Wingo. He passed away Saturday July 21, 2018 at Riverside assisted Living. Mr. Wingo served in the United States Navy during World War 2 and the Korean War and retired from the United States Navy in November 1966 as a Master Chief Quarter Master.

He also worked 23 years for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers in Huntsville. Member of Hills Chapel Church of God. Preceded in death by his parents, Wife of 66 year, Geraldine Wingo.

Son, Ernest Wingo and Daughter-In-Law, Carol Wingo. Several Brothers and Sisters. Survivors include: 2 Sons: Jim (Kaye) Wingo Joe Wingo 2 Brothers: Bill Wingo Bob Wingo Sister: Rebecca Jenkins 2 Grandsons: Nathan Wingo Ryan Wingo In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
