Obituary of Raleigh Carter, Jr. Raleigh Williamson “Bill” Carter, Jr., age 87, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Carter was born in Gretna, VA on March 5, 1931 to R.W. and Katie Murphy Carter. Bill served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He was a 1959 graduate of Virginia Tech where he received a BS Degree in Engineering. Bill was the co-owner of Cap Tool & Manufacturing which was established in 1976. He attended Asheboro First Wesleyan Church.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Powell Carter; daughters, Mary Carter Cobia of Greensboro, and Rhonda Carter Viechnicki and husband Joel of Tomball, TX; and grandchildren, Justin, Lauren, Whitney, William, and Cameron. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 10:00-10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Mark Loman and Rev. Mark C. Beane officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens in Danville, VA.
