Mr. Ralph Clifford Richards, age 78, passed away February 12, 2019 at his home. Ralph was born April 4, 1940 to Harold and Norma (Farwell) Richards in Detroit. On November 26, 1960 he married the former Joanne Kurth.

Ralph was employed as a design engineer for Anderson Pattern for 10 years, retiring in 2002. After retirement he worked at Ray’s Quality Welding. He had previously worked for Paragon Pattern and Noreen Pattern.

Ralph was a volunteer firefighter and one time Chief at Blue Lake Township Fire Department. He was passionate about anything with an engine. He loved motorcycles and had owned them throughout his whole life.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joanne; his children, Sandra (Lanny) Smith of Jones, MI, Susan McDonald of Fruitport, and Ralph Jeremy (Sara) Richards of Muskegon; grandchildren, Tarynn (David) Blumke, Steven (Missy) Steele, Amy and Chad McDonald, and Lori Richards; and great-grandson, Nicholas Steele; and his brother, Alan Richards. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Richards. In accordance with his wishes no services will be held.
