Ralph’s Obituary This is the treasured journey of Ralph William Schmidt; he blessed this world with his presence on March 3rd, 1966, in Stillwater, MN. Ralph had many adventures growing up; none so much as when he joined the US Navy and traveled to many different countries, he was a proud American who loved his country and never stopped talking about how honored he was to serve it, he was honorably discharged on February 2nd, 1992; he was a Gunner’s Mate. During his Navy days he was graced to start a family and God granted him 4 daughters; Brooke, Megan, Taylor and Madisyn, but to him they were his “Little Princess, Fry, TT and Cozy”.

They truly became his pride and joy and as he watched them grown through the years he saw his dreams come true through them. Once he was out of the Navy he quickly was drawn into law enforcement, he was able to serve once again. He worked over 20 years in one way or another with law enforcement, he retired in August of 2018, as the Director of Investigators for the State of MN.

In 2002 he married “his bride Josier”, they fell instantly in love and truly were the love of each other’s lives. The love that they shared can only be described as “magical”. In 2005, God granted them a daughter and named her Stormie Jo, she quickly because the sparkle in her daddy’s eye, she was his “little bubby”.

They had an amazing 16 years together and Amy thanks God every day that she was able to build a life together with him and their family in Waseca, MN. Their journey together ended many years too soon but the time that they did share left memories as a family that they will have for their lifetimes. God realized Ralph had done all he needed to do here on earth and that his body needed to rest so he walked hand in hand with him on December 23rd, 2018, to bring him home.

“Pookie” as Amy called Ralph was at home and at peace when our Lord took that journey with him. Ralph will be remembered as being an amazing husband, a father that adored his children, a family man until the end, a friend that would do anything for you and a man with honor. His steel blue eyes, his smile that can light up a room and his soft calming voice will be missed dearly by all that knew him.

Any person Ralph met was truly richer because he touched their lives. It was only a short 52 years that we had him with us, but he gave us a life time of memories; each of our lives were made better by knowing him. Ralph lived his life to the fullest, gave everything he had each day and loved us like no other, what a legacy he has left us to cherish!

A Celebration of Ralph’s Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Grace Lutheran Church in Waseca.
