Obituary for Randall Lynn Young Randall Lynn Young, age 71, of Henderson, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his home. Randy was born in Knott County, Kentucky and moved to Henderson as a young man to seek employment. He met his wife Dorothy Haner and together had 2 children.
He was employed at Alcoa for over 32 years before retiring. Randy was a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge #958, a KY Colonel, and served his country in the U.S. Army as a missile specialist during the Vietnam Era. He was very active in gardening and grew everything from vegetables to shrubs.
He enjoyed U.K. Basketball, playing golf and baseball games with his son. Randy was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy, and his brother, Scott Young. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Shelly Melloy and husband Phillip Henderson, KY 1 Son: Steven Young and wife Marian Henderson, KY 2 Sisters: Pam Draughn Sally Duff both of Knott Co., KY 2 Brothers: Charles Young Knott Co., KY Travis Young Henderson, KY 7 Grandchildren 2 Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Relatives and friends are invited to Randall’s Life Celebration from 3-8 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2018 and from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home with Rev. Nathan Whisnant officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY.
A Masonic Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday evening at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Shriners Childrens Hospital, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508.
