Ray Thomas, 79 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky after a sudden illness. Ray was born September 28, 1939 in Louisville, KY the son of Ernest F. and Gertrude Williams Thomas. Ray retired after several years of service as one of the lead men at Reynolds Aluminum Company in Louisville.

He was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Charlestown and a United States Air Force Veteran. Ray was an avid UK Fan, Bowler, Softball Player and Hot Wheels Collector. Ray is survived by his wife, Brenda Pacey Thomas; daughter, Terri Lynn Sheckles(Steve) of Charlestown; son, Darren Bruce Thomas(Leisa) of Marysville, IN; sister, Patricia Shipman of Charlestown; grandchildren, Andrew, Brandon, Kaelin, Skyeler; great-grandchildren, Braiden, Ezra, Isla and Karaline.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Norma Brewer and grandson Mason. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 12 Noon at the First Baptist Church of Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Charlestown and after 10 A.M. on Tuesday at the church until the time of service.
