December 6, 1949 – September 2, 2018 Morrill – Raymond “Ray” Earl Cross, 68, died unexpectedly and peacefully in his home. Raymond graduated from Belfast Area High School in 1968. He then graduated from Central Maine Vocational-Technical Institute in 1970.

He graduated from the United States Army Training Center Infantry Division out of Fort Dix, New Jersey and was a paratrooper in the US Army Airborne Division based out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina 1st BN (ABN) 505th INF and… Read More » Fort Ord, California, where he received the National Defense Service Medal and Parachute Badge. Raymond was a motor enthusiast, taking great pleasure in riding his motorcycle. He loved hunting and fire arms and enjoyed the outdoors.

He had a green thumb and could often be found working in his beautiful vegetable garden when he was home. Raymond was a hard worker, and was a project manager at Vision Builders of Rockport, where he was employed for 36 years. Raymond will be deeply missed by his wife Carolyn, his sons Jason and Kevin and Jason’s wife Megan.

Raymond is also survived by his stepchildren, Kimberly and Dalton, his mother, Carrie Cross of Belmont, two brothers: Gary and wife Michelle, and their children, Garret and Megan and her husband Buddy; Doug and his wife Lois and Doug’s children, Gavin, Cody, and Brian. Raymond also is survived by the mother of his sons, Kathi of Bangor, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held at the Waldo County Shrine Club at 20 Northport Avenue in Belfast on Sunday, September 16 from 12-4 pm.
