Reatha Lett Reatha Lett was born on February 27, 1924, in Monroe County, AL. She was one of several children born to Isiah Lett and Zelma McCants Lett. A lifelong resident of Peterman, AL, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.

At an early age she joined with the Mars Hill Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to Mt. Olive, but ultimately found herself back with her family church home of Mars Hill Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Rev.

Osbry Millender. “Mother” was her name to most anyone who knew her. A loving spirited person, she attended church whenever the open doors would receive her.

She was patient, kind and loving. She knew God to be her Savior and trusted her life to the spiritual values of Christianity. Reatha Lett was “everything to everybody” and unselfishly loved others.

She was rooted in the foundation of the community supporting one another. She delighted herself in keeping healthy. Every morning, she’d put on her lipstick and make up and take a morning walk down the road.

She did this daily until November, 2017, when her health began to challenge her daily routine. Her joy came from the smiles and laughter of her family. She especially enjoyed her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching them grow up.

In the early afternoon of, Thursday, August 30, 2018, God saw that His Spiritual warrior was weary. He whispered for her to come and take her rest. She gently took her Savior’s hand and left behind this earthly world.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and three children: Cecil Lett, John Lett, and Jonelle Dailey. She leaves to cherish her memories, seven children: Roger (Beverly) Lett, James (Charlene) Lett, Tony (Sandra) Lett, Catherine (Lee Anthony) Sigler, Rosie Mobley, Alice Moore, all of Peterman, AL, and Debra (Jerome) Rankins of Monroeville, AL; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, one daughter-in-law: Shirley Lett; two special nieces: Juliette Lett and Marguerite Mosley; a host of other loved nieces, nephews, other loved relatives and devoted friends.
