Obituary for Rebecca Cox Grider (Estes) Rebecca Estes Cox Grider, 72, wife of Daniel Grider, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Frankfort Reginal Hospital. She was born on August 13, 1946 in Woodford County, KY, the daughter of the late Lena Evelyn Blackburn and James W. “Happy” Estes. Rebecca was a graduate of Woodford County High School and attended Sullivan University.
She was a clerk who worked for Rite-Aid and K-Mart. Rebecca loved gardening, canning, and spending time with her beloved great-grandbabies. In addition to her parents Rebecca was preceded in death by her three children, Lisa, Debbie, David Cox, brother, Ralph Estes, and grandson, Ryan Reed.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Daniel Grider, Versailles, step-daughter, Angela (Joel) Dunmire, Frankfort, brother, Mike (Michelle) Estes, Florida, cousin, Pat Johns, Ohio, grandchildren, Robert Robertson, Frankfort, Caitlin Reed, Lawrenceburg, Eric Thompson, Frankfort, David Owen Cox, and great-grandchildren, McKynlee and Landon Hemard. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 5 also at Blackburn & Ward, Derrick Sumerel officiating.
Pallbearers will be, Joel Dunmire, Robert Robertson, John Munro, Jerry VanPelt, Tony Haynes, and Gilbert C. Blades, III. Honorary pallbearer will be Eric Thompson. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
