Rebecca’s Obituary Rebecca Ellen Ahern, 93, passed away on January 31, 2019, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born April 25, 1925, to James Gilliland and Katherine Thompson Gilliland in West Middle, Pennsylvania. Rebecca loved gardening, history, lost homemaking arts, Law and Order, Turner Classic movies, Christmas and Sunday dinner.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Dean Ahern. Rebecca is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William C. and Sarah Ahern; daughter and son-in-law, Billie Jo and Ted Dickerson; Grandchildren, Jessica Dickerson, Barry Dickerson and wife Marie, Michael Ahern, and Caitlin Ahern. Rebecca was loved by many people who called her Gigi which stood for great-grandmother.

She was called Gigi by children and adults alike. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Castle Ridge Mortuary. Interment will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 1:45.
