LANCASTER – Rebecca J. Daily Vesperman, age 63, of Prairie du Chien, formerly of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer at her home in Prairie du Chien. She was born on July 2, 1954, in La Crosse, the daughter of Robert and Gloria (Schuttenhelm) Daily. Rebecca graduated from West Salem High School and furthered her education at Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse, earning a degree in Police Science.

She later received… Read More » her bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Upper Iowa University. On September 19, 1998, Rebecca was united in marriage to Douglas R. Vesperman at Liberty Ridge Church. She was employed as a 911 Dispatcher for over ten years for La Crosse County.

Rebecca enjoyed traveling with Doug on their motorcycle. She also liked going to garage sales, playing Bingo, and gambling. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Doug; children: Randy (Krista) Groth, Bangor; Kert (Micki Luther) Groth, La Crosse; Amanda (Jesse Fish) Groth, Prairie du Chien; three step-children: Chad (Tammy Theill) Vesperman, Lake Mills; Brad (Erin) Vesperman, Mt.

Horeb; Amy Groth, La Crosse; and many grandchildren, extended family and friends. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Cheri Nicholson, and a step-daughter, Taffy Groth. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory, 1234 S Madison, Lancaster, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating.

Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of plants and flowers, donations may be made in memory of Rebecca J. Daily Vesperman to Crossing Rivers Hospice, 37868 US-18, Prairie du Chien, WI 53821.
