Rebecca Young Edgar May 06, 1947 – December 30, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Rebecca Young Edgar (lovingly known as Dollbaby) of Opp, Alabama died Sunday, December 30, 2018, surrounded by her family, at Sacred Heart of Pensacola, Florida. She was 71. Edgar was best known for hosting annual tea parties for young girls and for her dedication to the success of Young’s Florist up until her retirement.

Rebecca is survived by her four daughters, Melanie Edgar, Emily Edgar, Mindell Edgar Glisson & husband, Dale, and Macie Edgar Taylor & husband, Deuce; four grandchildren, Ali Taylor, Sara Rebekah Glisson, Maggie Taylor, and Thomas Glisson; one brother, Howard Young; and dear loving friend, Bill Delk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Melissa Smith Young and Abner Mixon Young. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at Wyatt Funeral Home. Gary Miller will be officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Glisson, Judd Young, Andy Knight, Hal Senn, Michael Horath and Pat Ferrell.

Flowers have always been a huge part of Rebecca’s life and will be lovingly accepted at her service. The family will be receiving friends at Rebecca’s home, 121 Fairway Drive, Opp, Alabama. Now a special message from the family: Dollbaby, What moves us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch.

We may not understand why you left before we were ready to say goodbye, but little by little, we begin to remember not only that you passed, but that you lived. And that the memories you gave us were too beautiful to forget. We are better every day for knowing you.

We will always love you to the moon and back.
