Renee E. Summers, age 48, of Cheboygan passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey. She was born July 20, 1970 in Detroit, the daughter of Dick and Joyce (Kaumeyer) Summers. Renee and her family moved to Cheboygan in 1985 and she graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1988.

Renee was best known as “Aunt Renee” to her nieces and nephews and their friends. She enjoyed cooking and baking, bringing in treats to work, gardening, hiking, eating out with her family and friends and attending her niece’s and nephew’s sporting events. Survivors include her mother, Joyce of Cheboygan, one sister, Carol (Carl) Reimann, nieces and nephews, Kayla (Justin Gauden) Reimann, Jared Reimann, Hailey Reimann and Ian Reimann, all of Riggsville, uncles, John Kaumeyer of Indian River, Ray (Sandy) Kaumeyer of Mesa, AZ, and Bob (Evelyn) Summers of Traverse City, and her cousins, Tammy (Todd) Pierce and Lisa (Joe) Chafin, both of Mesa, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dick Summers, grandparents, John and Audry Kaumeyer and Barbara Summers. No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Pellston Sports Boosters, c/o Matt Sheick, 172 N. Park St., Pellston, MI 49769.

Arrangements are being handled by the Nordman-Christian Funeral Home.
