Renee Marie (Marceau) Dussault, 94, of Webster Street in St. Johnsbury, VT, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. Renee was born in Chatellerault, France, on May 10, 1923, daughter to Rene and Berthe (Merlet) Marceau. She grew up in Port-de-pile and lived in Paris during the occupation until immigrating to the United States in 1961.

Renee worked as a seamstress in St. Johnsbury, VT and made many wedding gowns. Renee’s biggest love was animals. She took care of all the cats in the neighborhood and received an award for collection and donation of funds to local shelters.

Renee was a homebody preferring to stay quietly at home. She is survived by a son: John Boucher of Tempe, AZ; a sister: Jacqueline Marceau of France; a niece: Kathy Cloutier; and nieces and nephews of the Margaret Hall, Albert Dussault, and Amanda Descoteaux families. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, 1PM, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 49 Winter Street in St. Johnsbury, VT.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Donations in Renee’s name can be made to Kingdom Animal Shelter, PO Box 462, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family at www.
