OBITUARY Richard Alan Lazar March 19, 1945 – January 2, 2019 COLUMBIA – A funeral service for Richard Alan Lazar, 73, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Lazar passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Born March 19, 1945, he was a son of the late Seymour Lazar and Evelyn Light Lazar. Richard was born in Long Island New York, lived in Orlando, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, and the last 21 years in Columbia. He worked in retail and also volunteered at Camden Public Library.

Richard attended Tree of Life Synagogue and Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. He was a wonderful husband, uncle and was loved by many friends. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Carol E. Beck; brother, Bruce Lazar of Miami, Florida; sister, Paddy Lazar of Portland, Oregon; nephew, Scott Lazar; niece, Nicole Rechtor; and numerous great-nieces and a great-nephew.
