Richard Clarence Hammer November 11, 1929 – December 30, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Richard (Dick) Clarence Hammer of Isle, MN passed away at age 89 on Sunday December 30, 2018 at the Chicago Hines VA Hospital. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean war from 1952-1956. He then ran his dairy farm in Turtle Lake, WI.

Richard then moved his family to Minneapolis, MN where he became the 46th employee of Medtronics in 1963. He retired from Medtronics after 27 years at which time he moved to Isle, MN and remained there until the summer of 2018. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Myrna Rae (Scharmer) Hammer.

He is survived by his children, Gregary (Katie) Hammer, Robert (Laura) Hammer, Karen (Shannon) Garrett, his sister Louise (Hammer) Smith. his grandchildren Andrea (Curt) Dehn, Joshua Hammer, Jesse Hammer, Jacob Hammer, Richard (Christy) Hammer, Daniel Hammer, Zachary Hammer, Melinda (Mike) Frazee, Brandy (Robert) Royer, and Amber Garrett; and 10 great grandchildren. The Visitation will be held at Mille Lacs Lake Funeral Home in Isle, MN on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 5:00-7:00pm.

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00am at the Wahkon Presbyterian Church (visitation 1 hour prior). The burial at Sunset Cemetery in Isle, MN will follow the service.
