Obituary for Richard Clyde Cannon Sr. Richard Clyde Cannon, Sr., 72, of 2295 Seamster Road, Providence, NC, died on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Caswell House, after a decline in health for the past several years. Mr. Cannon was born on October 21, 1946, in Lacrosse, VA, a son of the late Cyphus Cannon and the late Edith Seward Cannon. He lived most of his life in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Cannon is survived by three children, Teresa C. Gibbs (Tommy), of Providence, NC, Richard C. Cannon, Jr., and Sandra “Sandi” Gibbs (Kenneth), both of Pelham, NC; a brother, Charles Cannon, of Littleton, NC; a sister, Ethel Harris, of Roanoke Rapids, NC; ten grandchildren, Nicole Curtis, T.J. Gibbs, Jr., Tiffany Lamb, Dwayne Hatcher, Joshua Holbrook, Matthew Holbrook, Sydni Gibbs, Nicholas Gibbs, Cody Burton, and Joshua Powers; and ten great grandchildren, Brooklyn Morris, Kaydence Morris, Bayleigh Curtis, Brennan Phelps, Bentley Lamb, Savana Gibbs, Brycen Gibbs, Madison Hatcher, Joshlynn Holbrook, and Ember Holbrook.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jake Cannon. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Wrenn-Yeatts Yanceyville Chapel is respectfully serving the Cannon family.
