Richard’s Obituary STEELEVILLE – Richard D. Diercks, 62, of Steeleville, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019, at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. Richard was born in Red Bud, Illinois, on July 25, 1956, the son of William and Maxine Guin Diercks. He was employed with the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Richard was a 20 year Retiree from the US Air Force. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Percy; lifetime member of the B.B.K. American Legion Post #480, Steeleville; lifetime member of Kaskaskia V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester; and the Chester Eagles. Richard is survived by one son, Shane (Leslie) McGee of Mandeville, LA; two grandchildren, Max and Laila; mother, Maxine Diercks of Steeleville; brothers, Michael Diercks of Marion, IL and James Diercks of Ava; sister, Marsha Rodewald of Ava; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his Father, William. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Wilson’s Funeral Home, Steeleville, with Rev. James Tinzman officiating.

Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery, Steeleville. Visitation will be at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Steeleville, where friends may call from 5 pm until 8 pm Thursday and on Friday from 7:30 am until 11 am. Memorials may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society.
