Richard “Dick” Delma Simpson, age 79 of Glendale, CA and lately of New Hampton, N.H, died on November 15, 2018 in Burbank, CA after a short illness with members of, his family surrounding his bed. Dick was born in Lyndonville, VT to Delma G. and Frances Lawson (Simpson) LaClair on August 25, 1939 and attended school in Sutton and Lyndon Institute. He graduated from Holliston, MA where his father was living.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in 1958. When he was discharged, he worked for Ted Velpey Corporation in electronics & radio crystals, UPS in MA, Logging in Vermont, and moved to California where he drove Greyhound Bus as a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters for 30 years where he retired as an honorary member. Following his retirement he continued as a driver for Television shows and finished out his working career at CBS on the TV show CSI:NY.

His nephew built him small cabin near his brother Tyler Simpson in New Hampton, NH where he spent spring and summers fly fishing and hunting. He built & spent several years as an Amatetur Ham Radio operator, built computers, and had a Tax accounting business, In his earlier years he loved hunting and tying flies. He was a member of Single Action Shooting Society, the NRA, Canyon Oaks Sportsman Club – Trap and Skeet, NH Pemi Fish & Game Club, and a member of the Veterans Administration.

He attended the Glendale Presbyterian Church in California and Ashland Methodist Church in New Hampshire. Richard leaves his wife Tania Simpson, and her children, his beloved Karina Culbertson of Sun Valley, CA. and Alex Souto of Tujunga, CA: his children Ted Edwin Simpson of Arcadio, CA, Beth Tipton of Marshalltown, Iowa, Michelle Moss of Tujunga, , and Tracy Boyd of New Holland, PA; his siblings: Barbara Dwyer of Lyndonville, VT, Marilyn Simpson of Montreal, Canada, Jean Dotzler of Rock Spring, GA; Ted LaClair of Newark, DE, Tyler Simpson of New Hampton, NH, Dane Simpson of Ashland, NH, Kevin Simpson of Summerville, SC: Stepsister, Brenda LaClair of Jefferson, Vermont, Step-brother Keith LaClair of Newark Delaware; Stepmother Marie Simpson, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, her children David MacDonald of New Smyrna Beach, Christopher MacDonald of Moultonboro, NH; Richard was predeceased by his parents, stepparents, Francis LaClair and Audrey Farnsworth, his son Richard (Butch) Simpson, his adopted grandson Jake Simpson, and his sister Lyndel Simpson McKay.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring in Ashland, NH. The Sayles Funeral Home is assisting will arrangements, condolences may be shared at www.
